Welcome to the Sixteenth IWAC Conference

WAC for Transitions: The Next 50 Years

We are excited to announce that the Sixteenth International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference will be held in June 2023 at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. It will take place June 14 through June 17, 2023.  IWAC 2023

According to Marty Townsend, IWAC is a biennial conference for scholars from the United States and abroad to gather together and continue conversations around how writing and language impact student learning, with a strong emphasis on second-language learners.

Our call for proposals closed October 31, 2022 and all proposals are being evaluated by our reviewers. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out in late November 2022.

Registration for IWAC 2023 is now open and will run through April 14, 2023. The conference offers both in-person and virtual attendance options. As you begin making your travel arrangements, please consult our travel and lodging page for information on conference hotels and other important information.

Competitive grants were made available for faculty members in part-time and contingent positions as well as for graduate and undergraduate students. Applications for these grants closed October 31, 2022 and applicants will be notified of their acceptance in late Fall 2022.

We are excited to have the opportunity to gather once again as a community to consider the past, present, and future of the WAC movement.
