IWAC 2023 Accessibility Information
The IWAC 2023 planning committee is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all conference attendees. Persons requiring ADA or other accommodations can contact conference organizers at firstname.lastname@example.org or (864)656-8095 to discuss their needs. Organizers can best meet your needs if requests are made by May 14, 2023.
We encourage all participants to prioritize accessibility at the conference. Presenters should review resources on how to create and deliver accessible documents, presentations and multimedia assets. This, and more, can be found at Composing Access.
When possible, presentations will be available in multiple formats and printed copies of slides, handouts and papers will be provided. We strongly encourage presenters to upload their materials to our shared Box folder ahead of the conference in order to facilitate this process. In order for conference planners to be able to print your materials, they must be uploaded no later than May 24, 2023. Any materials uploaded after that time will be made available as part of the conference archive.
Since IWAC 2023 is a hybrid event, we encourage all presenters to think about how to address accessibility in this blended modality. Questions related to presentation accessibility can be directed to our team at email@example.com.
Access Information for Attendees
Registration is hosted through Clemson University’s Marketplace site, which meets WCAG AA accessibility standards. If you have any difficulty navigating the registration page, please call our team at (864) 656-8095 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
If you require a personal assistant to accompany you to the conference, you will be able to denote that on the registration form. Personal assistants will not need to purchase registration for themselves in order to attend the event.
If they wish to partake in conference meals, they can purchase a non-registrant meal ticket for $200, which will cover all meals provided at the conference center. If they do not wish to purchase a meal ticket, they will be responsible for their own meals.
If this creates a barrier for you, please contact our team for alternate arrangements.
The James F. Martin Inn, located at the conference center where IWAC 2023 will be held, is an ADA compliant hotel with ADA-accessible rooms. Contact the inn directly at (864) 656-9020 with any accessibility related questions. For information on how to reserve a room, please visit our Travel and Lodging page.
On-campus lodging is also available in Clemson University dorms. There are ADA-accessible rooms available upon request. Please note that the conference is not taking place on Clemson’s main campus, and the conference center is not within walking distance. A free shuttle will be provided. For information on how to reserve a dorm, please visit our Travel and Lodging page.
Check back regularly for more information. As the conference approaches, we will include information on accessible transportation methods and other useful information. If you have questions or suggestions for the conference organizers, please contact us at email@example.com.
