Read More Books in 2019: Why Reading for Fun Should Be Your Top Resolution

We’re almost one month into the new year, and that means it’s reached the point of January when New Year’s resolutions are slowly abandoned and forgotten. Rather than letting your good intentions and healthy habits slip away, take a moment to recommit to them. Personally, my resolutions this year include making weekly trips to the recycling center, the usual “drink more water,” and most importantly, to read 19 books in 2019. Utilizing Resources in Cooper Library

Students have always had an interesting relationship with their college library.  There has been at least one night in the library where students have stayed up all night studying for a grueling exam that will count as 40% of their grade.  Even if some have not stayed up all night in the library before, the students that are in the library are usually drained and can only think about when they are going to get their next drop of coffee to keep themselves going.  Besides being a major study space and conversation area for social butterflies such as myself, the library actually has more helpful resources than students realize.  Here are some (but not all) benefits found in R.M. Managing both at once is difficult, but the skills and opportunities you’ll gain are worth it. … Continue readingThe Benefits of Working in College

Four Benefits of Taking a Communication Course

When faced with the daunting duty of giving a speech, scared students begin to beg for snakes, heights, and germs instead of standing in front of their peers and presenting. A required course for undergraduates at many universities – including Clemson – public speaking is seen as a terrifying task to many. However, the majority of college students are unaware of the benefits that a communication course provides – regardless of any prior experience and major. … Continue readingFour Benefits of Taking a Communication Course
