Library staffer Michelle smiles while wearing a mask from behind a plexiglass barrier Tiger Tales: Cooper Library

Michelle sits behind a wall of plexiglass in the Cooper library. She wears a mask with the faint pattern of library due date stamps. It’s a dark and stormy worknight.

“This is my first time working back here,” library staffer Michelle said. “I just started in August, and so this is all new to me. I’m just getting my footing, getting my feet grounded, so I’m really excited. I like working back here and meeting new people and getting them to explore new books, making recommendations and finding new books for myself to read.”

“I’m reading Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan. I’ve been reading her for a long, long time. She’s got a lot of books, a lot of series. She’s very descriptive but not to the point where I’m bored. I just find the subjects she writes about fascinating—usually people with some kind of extra ability that most people don’t have, like a sixth sense.”

You can find Michelle at the Cooper Library circulation desk beyond the monitored entrance. When you see her, amplify your voice to the other side of the plexi-class. She will be happy to meet you and, naturally, recommend her favorite books.
