Changing the Way We Think About Leadership

Last spring, I took a class at Clemson that changed my life. I think it could change everyone’s. It was a seminar on leadership that proved to each student that all of the theories and formulas they previously were taught on how to develop one’s self as a leader – through both school and personal experience – were wrong. I think an activity we did as a class in February can best sum up what I took away from the course. … Continue readingChanging the Way We Think About Leadership

Utilizing Resources in Cooper Library

Students have always had an interesting relationship with their college library.  There has been at least one night in the library where students have stayed up all night studying for a grueling exam that will count as 40% of their grade.  Even if some have not stayed up all night in the library before, the students that are in the library are usually drained and can only think about when they are going to get their next drop of coffee to keep themselves going.  Besides being a major study space and conversation area for social butterflies such as myself, the library actually has more helpful resources than students realize.  Here are some (but not all) benefits found in R.M. Cooper Library at Clemson University that will help students thrive in this space. … Continue readingUtilizing Resources in Cooper Library

Whether it be intramural or club sports, a university club or organization, an on-campus internship, or even undergraduate research, involvement allows you to meet other students on campus and explore your passions at the same time. … Continue readingHow Being Involved Enhances the College Experience

The Benefits of Working in College

Over the past four years, the thing that helped me grow more than anything else has been working full or part time alongside my classes. Being a graphic communications major, I have always been an extremely hands on learner, and sitting in large classrooms listening to a lecture alone was never enough for me. Throughout the last 4 years of college, I have had many kinds of jobs and I believe each one helped me grow in a way just my degree alone couldn’t have. Managing both at once is difficult, but the skills and opportunities you’ll gain are worth it. … Continue readingThe Benefits of Working in College
